Feature guide
Link Studio groups direct camera controls and Linux-native processing into eight pages. Processed output is shared by preview, screenshots, recording, and the optional virtual camera.
Camera and image
The View page controls the gimbal, zoom, focus, mirror state, privacy position, and output orientation. Pan and tilt can be adjusted incrementally or reset with the center action. Focus can remain automatic or use a manual value.
The Image page includes HDR, automatic or manual exposure, exposure compensation, shutter speed, ISO, white balance, anti-flicker, brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, hue, and gain.
Link Studio leaves the Linux uvcvideo driver attached. Hardware changes are serialized and paced instead of taking exclusive control of the USB device.
Tracking and composition
The Smart page exposes the Link camera's Normal, AI Tracking, Whiteboard, Overhead, and DeskView modes. Camera AI provides native single-person tracking; Link Studio also includes local single-person and group tracking.
Local tracking supports one boundary and up to six pause areas drawn over the visible video frame. Composition options include head, half-body, and whole-body framing, plus tracking speed and gesture zoom where supported by the camera.
Effects and output
Software effects run after capture and do not alter webcam firmware. MediaPipe models are included with the application and loaded only when an effect needs them.
Filters and output orientation are also applied in the processed path. The virtual camera publishes that result to a v4l2loopback device for OBS, browsers, and meeting applications.
Audio and recording
The Audio page controls the Link 2's hardware Voice Focus, Voice Suppression, and Music Balance modes. PipeWire provides microphone source selection, volume, and mute.
Video recording creates an MP4 with H.264 video and 48 kHz mono AAC audio. Frame timestamps follow the live capture clock so a dropped preview frame does not shorten the video track relative to audio. Screenshots are written as PNG files.
Presets and tools
Scenes and color templates
Up to ten scene presets store a complete setup, including camera state, effects, orientation, and tracking regions. A scene can be renamed, updated, deleted, or applied automatically at startup. Twenty independent color templates recall image settings without changing composition or smart mode.
Phone remote and shortcuts
The optional phone remote starts a LAN-only controller with QR pairing and a random token that changes every time the server starts. Global shortcuts register fourteen actions through the XDG GlobalShortcuts portal; key assignment remains under the desktop compositor's control.
Teleprompter
Teleprompter windows support local scripts, import and editing, speed, font size, colors, opacity, a reading guide, looping, and a countdown. Each window keeps its own styling and playback state.
Local voice notes
Voice-note sessions can pause and resume, add timestamped notes and screenshot markers, and optionally use whisper.cpp for offline transcription. A Markdown summary is stored beside the recording.
Diagnostics
The Device page shows firmware and build information and exports a support bundle containing camera, format, media-stack, and rotating-log diagnostics. It does not include camera images or recordings.
